The Mazda CX-5 Earned Top Safety Pick Plus Ratings for the Sixth Straight Year

They've done it again! For the sixth straight year, Mazda has received a Top Safety Pick Plus rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for the 2019 Mazda CX-5. The CX-5 earned good scores in all the agency's crash tests, and also met the headlight and front crash prevention requirements. Its automatic braking system received a superior rating and its headlights earned a good rating. In order to achieve a Top Safety Pick Plus rating, vehicles must get good scores across all crash tests, including the tough new passenger-side small overlap front test.

Mazda gave the CX-5 additional safety options for 2019, including a 360-degree parking camera and front and rear parking sensors. It comes standard with a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and low-speed automatic braking, which will warn you if it detects vehicles or pedestrians ahead. It will also adjust the brakes for firmer braking and apply the brakes if you cannot. Optional driver assistance features in the 2019 Mazda CX-5 include:

  • Forward collision warning
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist
  • A head-up display

Lane departure warning is also available on the new Mazda CX-5. This feature gives you audible and visual warnings when it detects that you're about to unintentionally depart from your lane. The optional 360-degree parking camera lets you see all around you when you park. The new CX-5 is built with a rigid SKYACTIV®-body, seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, and SRS airbag systems that protect you in case of an accident. The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is a safe, fun-to-drive compact SUV with a stylish interior. Come to Key Auto Mall and experience it firsthand.
